If you are looking for fried seafood with delicious and sweet hush puppies then this is an amazing place to go.

I live with my family in Pennsylvania and stayed for a week in Carolina Beach, NC. As we were preparing for the trip we looked up as much as we could about the area so we could see if We could find a good place for lunch and/or dinner that has good food. This restaurant key showing up on the list. Then I found out that this place was on Diners Drivins and Dives. Well that sealed the deal and we had to try it out because we were staying about 15 minutes drive from the place. Wow it did not disappoint.

Between the generous portions they serve and the friendly staff, this family friendly place was a big hit with us.   They even had markers for the kids to do drawings and colorings.

The atmosphere is very laid back and casual.   The building is older but it is bright and clean. The vibe is very much a "come as you are" place.

As for the food, I had the clam chowder as an appetizer. It's very good and has a lot of flavor. It's on the thinner side compared to others I have had but it's full flavor really makes it worth a try. I then had a convo with fried oysters, scallops and shrimp.   The portions were so large I took about 1/2 home. This was served with French fries. It was simply delicious and hit the spot.

The lighter crispy breading they use paired so well with the seafood that it just enhances the flavor of everything I ate. This all came with the hush puppies that were very sweet and a nice appetizer.

All in all it was a great experience and I ended up going back 2 more times for lunch without my family. I will miss this restaurant and wish there was one like it a near where I live.

If you like fried seafood, do yourself a favor and try this place.

Went here with my girlfriend to try the "Guy Fieri" special from the show Dinners, Drive-in's and Dives. We got the sampler platter and chowder as he recommended. The chowder was really well balanced with a good blend of spice, clams tasted excellent. The hush puppies were warm and soft with a light crispy crunch. The sweet tea was pretty basic as far as the south goes, good but not the best I've had. Then the sampler came in to the picture. It was A LOT of food and I'm a big guy who can eat a lot. Everything on the sampler was great, just as stated in the show. Light, crispy breading and packed full of flavor. We had one shrimp that was not cleaned properly but it was the only issue with the whole meal. The fried flounder was flaky and so good! Will definitely be coming back.

My wife and John F Martinez came to this fine seafood establishment in Wilmington North Carolina. We ordered the the sampler with Flounder and it was delicious. We will come back for sure. Great service and good old home atmosphere.

We had such a great experience at Something Fishy! We had been wanting to try this place for a while, but every time we thought of it, it was a Monday! (They are closed on Mondays.) I was greeted very promptly, and shown to my table. It was lunch on a Tuesday, and it was steadily busy. The menu is limited, but has everything one would want. Our waiter was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. The atmosphere inside is cute and relaxed-the wall has bright colored fish on it. We ordered quickly, and then we were brought hot hushpuppies! They were very good! When the food came, it looked delicious! My fried shrimp were very lightly fried. There were so many on my plate!! My sides were fried okra and a boiled potato. The fried okra was good. The boiled potato was literally a boiled potato! Ha! Once you cut it into pieces and put salt and pepper on it, it was good! Boyfriend had the grilled mahi mahi, which had a very good flavor! The fries were good. I heard that the corn on the cob lacked seasoning. Overall, this was a very fun experience. You should definitely check out Something Fishy!

If you love deep fried seafood, this is definitely the place for you. There is not a variety of healthier options on the menu. Got the grilled mahi mahi which was good, not great. I thought  the portion size was a little too small. Whereas my other dinner companions got huge entrée portions of steamed shrimp, fried scallop, and fried flounder. Steamed shrimp was tasty with old bay seasoning. The green beans were standard canned cafeteria food. Hush puppies were good-sweet and crispy. Fried okra was decent-slightly crispy small pieces. French fries were limp, not crispy. After you are done with your meal, you pay at the front counter.

The women's bathroom was interesting..a single with two toilets. So considering there are 2 toilets, you would think there would be plenty of toilet paper but they were completely out. Definitely need to work on bathroom maintenance.
